Stripe payments

Collect card payments on your form, paid out to your own Stripe account.

How it works#

Collecting money takes two pieces: a Stripe Payment block on the form (the card field respondents see) and a connected Stripe account (where the money lands). You connect your own Stripe account via Stripe Connect, so charges are made directly on your account and payouts go straight to you — Halloform never holds the funds.

This is separate from Halloform's own subscription billing. Connecting Stripe here is about taking payments from your respondents.

Connect your Stripe account#

  1. Open your form's Integrations tab and choose Stripe.
  2. Authorize on Stripe's Connect screen — sign in to your Stripe account (or create one) and approve the connection.
  3. You're returned with your account connected. The authorization doesn't expire, so one connect covers all your forms; each form's payment block can pin which connected account it charges.

Collecting payments#

Add a Stripe Payment block to your form. Respondents pay by card inline as part of submitting — a successful payment is treated as a completed submission, so a paid response never gets stranded as in-progress. You can set a per-form statement descriptor (what shows on the cardholder's bank statement); leave it blank to use your Stripe account's own descriptor.

Recurring subscriptions#

The payment block can also collect a recurring monthly or yearly subscription through Stripe's hosted Checkout. When someone subscribes, Halloform emails them a magic link to Stripe's Customer Portal so they can update their card or cancel without needing a Halloform account — enable the Customer Portal in your Stripe settings for this to work.
